Note To Self: DON’T QUIT!
Sometimes you have a week that just seems to drain you on every level. One where you’re pulled in so many directions, you feel like you’re a moving target, unable to zig-zag your way fast enough or far enough away from being wounded by the incoming arrow that seems hell-bent on piercing you right in the center of your heart.
You just feel like you can’t do it any more. You’re tired and you want to give up.
BUT, for the Grace of God (and the stubbornness he’s bestowed upon you or in this case, ME – thankfully) you can’t and you don’t and you make yourself get up and you just,
GO ON.
And since I have and I’ve gotten my second wind now, I say,
BRING IT ON!
This is for my friends and readers who might need a little help getting up……
Don’t Quit
by: Unknown Author
When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out:
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow –
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out –
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far:
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.

I try to be mindful of my fellow creatures, and if someone else is having a bad week, I offer a smile or a shoulder to help them through, and hope they will do the same when I am in need. Great post!

Thanks Karen. I haven’t seen that poem in a long time. It helped me quite a bit when I needed it the most. I’m going to share it with one of my groups at my clinic.
Peace

I know this feeling, and not too many moons ago it seemed that I had felt this way for too many days in a row; regardless, despite feeling so low, I did just what you and this poem say. Not just for my daughter’s sake, but for the sake that as sure as hard times come they pass, and once again there is new life. Without struggle we would never really be able to fully experience grace. Ebb and flow. I love the photo, the poem, and heart that comes from your sharing. Thank you, Karen! Wonderful way to begin my week. 🙂

Love this. The week before last was like that for me. I had to sit down and take a few quiet moments–no matter what else was pressing–to figure out what I needed to give up, for a little, to keep moving forward. “Blogging” was the answer. So, calling this a “joy” instead of a “job” is helping me put things in perspective. I feel a lot more full of energy now. Of course, that probably also has a little something to do with Li’l D’s second-night-ever away from his parents. He’s off with the grammas, which meant eight hours of sleep here last night–!!!
